Services

What We Offer

We offer a range of services designed to support mental health and wellbeing for young people and families.

Our services include:

- Young People’s Counselling

One-to-one integrative therapy for 11-25 year olds, tailored to address the unique needs of young people in a safe and supportive environment. We use a range of therapeutic approaches meaning each session is bespoke to each person’s needs and aims. We work creatively and visually where appropriate, enabling safe and comfortable expression of experiences and emotions.

- EMDR

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is a structured psychotherapy that helps individuals process and resolve traumatic memories, particularly those associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). EMDR can also be helpful for individuals experiencing other mental health challenges, such as anxiety, depression, and phobias. We are currently able to offer EMDR therapy to clients aged from age 11+ (Year 7 onwards).

- Parent Support

We know that supporting a young person with mental health challenges can feel both overwhelming and triggering, and that’s why we offer dedicated support for parents through both one-on-one and group sessions. With both lived and professional experience, we recognise the impact mental health difficulties have on the whole-family, and the importance of collaborative support.

Whether you prefer the personal connection of one-on-one sessions or the shared understanding of a group setting, our support is tailored to your unique needs.

- 1:1 Parent Support

In our individual sessions, you will receive personalised guidance from experienced professionals who can help you better understand inter-generational patterns, your child’s mental health needs, develop coping strategies, and work through the emotional challenges you may be facing. These private sessions provide a space where you can speak openly, receive tailored advice, and gain the confidence to make informed decisions for your child’s wellbeing and your own.

- Group Parent Support (Launching Soon)

For those seeking connection with others who understand, our group sessions offer a supportive and non-judgmental environment where parents can share experiences, learn from one another, and gain insights into managing both their child’s needs and their own mental health. These sessions are facilitated by trained counsellors and focus on understanding presenting issues, promoting self-care, and offering practical strategies for supporting your child.

At Thriving Young Minds, we believe that when parents are empowered and supported, they can create an environment where both they and their children can thrive. Our Parent Support services offer you a safe, understanding space to learn, grow, and find comfort, knowing you’re not alone on this journey.

- Sibling Support (Launching Soon)

Being the sibling of a disabled child can come with unique challenges and emotions. Our Sibling Support Group is a safe, welcoming space for siblings of disabled children to share their experiences, connect with others who understand, and receive the emotional support they need.

In this group, siblings have the opportunity to express their feelings and learn coping strategies to manage the complexities that come with being part of a family where a sibling has additional needs. This group offers not only a chance to connect with peers in similar situations but also provides a platform for empowerment. We focus on strengthening emotional well-being, fostering positive relationships, and promoting self-care strategies, all while recognising the importance of each sibling’s individual journey.

If you’re looking for a space to share, grow, and gain support in a way that’s just for you, our Sibling Support Group could be a great fit. You are not alone—let us walk alongside you as you navigate the experience of being a sibling in a nurturing, neuro-affirming environment.

- Family Support

We know that mental health challenges affect not just the individual, but the entire family. Our Whole-Family Support service is designed to strengthen the family unit, offering tailored guidance and strategies to help each member navigate the complexities of mental health together.

Whether you’re a parent, sibling, or extended family member, our holistic approach focuses on fostering communication, understanding, and collaboration within the family. We work closely with you to address the unique dynamics of your family, helping you develop effective coping mechanisms, enhance emotional well-being, and build a supportive environment where every individual feels heard and valued.

Through a combination of family therapy, support sessions, and practical resources, we empower families to work together in supporting mental health in others while also nurturing their own needs. Our Whole-Family Support service is designed to promote healing, strengthen relationships, and ensure that no one in the family feels alone in their journey.

- Clinical Supervision

We offer specialised Clinical Supervision services for counsellors, mental health professionals, education and safeguarding staff working in roles with vulnerable young people. This is tailored to your unique needs, providing a reflective, supportive, and educational space where you can enhance your practice, develop your skills, and ensure your continued professional growth.

We are committed to fostering a supportive relationship where you can openly discuss your challenges, gain insight, and feel encouraged in your professional journey. We believe that strong, well-supported professionals provide the best care, and we’re here to support you as you continue to grow and excel in your work.
